MEET THE TEAM

Shane Munson

Pro-Fitness Training has a wealth of athletic talent, ability and experience in certified trainer Shane Munson.

Shane moved to Winnipeg from Thunder Bay in 1999 to play football for the University of Manitoba Bisons. Shane was named the Bisons starting Quarterback straight out of high school without playing any junior football. Anyone who is familiar with the game can recognize what a rare feat this was. Shane started at Quarterback for the Bisons for five years and was instrumental in turning the football program around. In just his first year, the Bisons made the playoffs after many futile years without a playoff appearance.

Shane’s many collegiate achievements include:

  • CanWest Rookie of the Year
  • National runner-up for Rookie of the Year
  • Led the Bisons to their first Vanier Cup appearance in 30 years
  • Team captain for three years
  • A three-time Conference All-Star Quarterback
  • Currently holds over 10 Bison passing records
  • Named Bison football MVP
  • Named CanWest MVP
  • Runner up for the Hec Creighton Award and was the first Quarterback in school history to be nominated for the award
  • Starting Quarterback and team captain for the East/West All-Star Game
  • Shane’s five year record as Starting Quarterback was 26 and 5

After his college career, Shane was going to be a top prospect for the CFL until a devastating shoulder injury ultimately ended his career but brought him to Pro-Fitness Training for rehab. During his rehabilitation at PFT, Shane developed a love for training and eventually earned his Nationally Certified personal training certificate through CPTN.

In addition to training at PFT, Shane has been coaching the St. Paul’s High School football team for three years. Shane is a sport movement specialist and specializes in training athletes from the junior to pro level, as well as clients wanting to achieve their everyday fitness goals.

At Pro-Fitness Training, our mission is:
